I've just been noticing lately that we have a lot of registered members who aren't very active. And a few new members who aren't very active. I was just wondering why that is. Is there anything we (the staff) can change? Feel free to say comment, you won't hurt our feelings We'd just like to have a forum that everyone enjoys and participates in; so your feedback would be much appreciated If you don't feel comfortable posting out in the open about this, feel free to PM either myself or Poisoned Candy. Thank you! Hvala vam! Hvala ti! メルシー! Shukria!

that tends to happen a lot on forums, unfortunately. members join but never post. maybe once every few weeks you can send out mass emails to remind members. maybe even have incentives for posting (like the shop) but as well, maybe holding contests of some sort. hope i helped =]

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll see if I can't get Poisoned Candy (the admin) to go ahead with them.

Well maybe, but I think we should try the emails first. Maybe the people joined, made a few posts, then got busy and forgot. Let's email them a few times. If nothing happens, say, after a month or so, then we can delete the accounts.
Otherwise, deleting member accounts may cause someone who was going to come back and become active to just never come back.

yeah, maybe in the email you can explain that if you are an inactive member [example: not posting in a month, or since they became a member] with 5 posts or under will be deleted in [some time span] 2 weeks. and i saw the ad for this on support, so whoever was posting that should keep bumping the thread!

Sure, e-mailing members is great idea. But deleting accounts... I never saw point in that. So lets say that one day, after long time they wanted to log in just to find out that their account is deleted? Nope. Even though, threatening that their accounts are going to be deleted is awesome idea. I know that it gets me back to many sites where I registered and became inactive, just to go back and log in.

If they are like me, and they haven't activated their account yet, it won't matter if you try to email them from here because they won't get the email.
